James' Profile

James began his career in the Hospitality industry, working his way up from waiter, barman and kitchen hand to successfully managing restaurants and pubs in Adelaide  He also had a stint overseas, working in London, before moving back to Australia and settling down in Cairns, in the Far North of Queensland, where he lived for just over 14 years. There, he managed (and still part owns) the well-known Cairns icon restaurant, Ochre Restaurant and Catering, which is still one of the best dining spots in town.  Over that time, the team ran and operated an internet cafe in Cairns and operated a successful catering business.
Deciding he needed a career change, James then returned to South Australia with his two children in 2005 and began his studies in Accounting through TAFE SA and then finally the University of New England, where he completed his Master's in Commerce (Professional Accounting) in mid 2012.  During those years, James ran his own bookkeeping business from his home, and also worked part time for Graham Holland at his Mount Barker accounting practice.  Having now completed his Master's degree, James has joined with Graham, to a new venture at Holland and Fielke - Public Accountants, on a permanent basis, helping Graham with the expanding client base.
James brings with him fresh knowledge in accounting having just completed his studies. and he also has a great deal of experience in small business and self Managed Super Funds.  He has also extensive experience in MYOB and also with Quick-books and Cashflow Manager accounting packages.
